Intel 8051 microcontroller
The Intel MCS-51, also known as the 8051, is an 8-bit microcontroller developed in 1980 by Intel.
Derivatives of the 8051 are still widely used today.

- Capable of addressing 64 kilobits of program memory and 64 kilobits of data memory
- 4 kilobits of on-chip ROM
- 128 bytes of on-chip RAM
- Special function registers (SFR) - control/monitor various aspects of 8051's functions
- 2 timers/counters
- Serial/UART
- 4 GPIO 8-bit ports
- Interrupt logic with 5 interrupt sources
